Private Instruction
Private lessons are the most conventional way that students chose to learn how to play the piano, guitar, voices lessons, and many others musical instrument. If learning how to play the piano using DVDs or software is difficult for you because it doesn’t provide the one on one instruction from an instructor, then I recommend that you find a certified music instructor in your local area using TakeLessons.com.

The Instructors
The instructors at TakeLessons.com are certified instructors who have been carefully screened based upon their eduction and professional backgrounds. Each instructor has a yearly background check to ensure safety of each one of our students. All instructors have to fill out a 7-step application in order to be a part of TakeLessons.com. Each month there are many instructors who apply; however, only the top 5% of the instructors who applied are hired. This provides each student with the best possible lesson experience.
How Much Do Lessons Cost?
The cost of the lessons vary. The cost is dependent on the following:
- Length of the Lesson
- Location of Lesson
- Area That You Reside In
A typical lesson is 45 to 60 minute lessons for an adult. You are free to adjust the length of the lessons. A child doesn’t have a long attention span compared to an adult; therefore, the recommended lesson should be 10 to 30 minutes long. The lessons can be taken in a studio or in the instructors home. Also, the lessons can be arranged to be taken in the comfort of your home if the instructor is within a certain radius of your home.
